SAN FRANCISCO, March 16, 2021 – Inc. magazine today revealed that Bospar is No. 230 on its second annual Inc. 5000 Regionals California list, the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing California-based private companies. Born of the annual Inc. 5000 franchise, this regional list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the California economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.
“Woot—we’re number 230,” exclaimed Curtis Sparrer, a principal of Bospar. “While ‘number one’ makes a better headline, being number 230 out of 5,000 demonstrates the responsible growth that our clients and staff expect from us. Speaking of our staff, we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our ‘Bospartans,’ who worked tirelessly to make this milestone a reality during this unprecedented time.”
The companies on this list show stunning rates of growth across all industries in California. Between 2017 and 2019, these 250 private companies had an average growth rate of 535%, and, in 2019 alone, they employed more than 40,000 people and added nearly $7 billion to the California economy. Companies based in major metro areas—Los Angeles, the Bay Area and San Diego—brought in the highest revenue overall.
From 2017 to 2019, Bospar experienced an average growth rate of 33.56%. It continues to build on its initial success; the agency more than doubled its client roster and added 16 new staff members in 2020, even as the pandemic wreaked havoc on the PR industry. Bospar has witnessed impressive growth by consistently delivering an enviable blend of strategic programs, tactical execution and winning media coverage for clients, such as Collibra, All Points North Lodge, Healthline, Open Systems, Prodoscore, Unisys, and Ware2Go.The agency is widely recognized as a PR force to be reckoned with. In addition to this most recent honor of being named to Inc.’s list of Californaia’s most successful companies, earlier this year the agency was named a PRovoke SABRE four-award recipient. In 2020 Bospar was selected to Forbes’ list of America’s Best PR Agencies 2020 and PRNews inaugural Agency Elite Top 100; earned four MarCom Awards, including three platinum; was named a PR World Award Grand winner; and was honored with a PRovoke’s 2020 North America Boutique Agency of the Year Award, a Gold 2020 MUSE Creative Award, and two Innovation SABRE awards. In its most recent ranking, the San Francisco Business Times named Bospar as the eighth largest Bay Area LGBT-owned business.
Complete results of the Inc. 5000 Regionals for California, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, metro area and other criteria, can be found at https://www.inc.com/inc5000/regionals/california starting March 16, 2021.“This list proves the power of companies in California no matter the industry,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “The impressive revenues and growth rates prove the insight and diligence of CEOs and that these businesses are here to stay. Boehlke Sparrer Communications has been ranked No. 230 on the Inc. 5000 Regionals list of the fastest-growing private companies in the California region. Congratulations!“For decades, Inc. has welcomed the fastest-growing private businesses in America to the 5000, but in 2021 you and the other winners truly set yourselves apart as our second annual regional honorees.”MethodologyThe 2021 Inc. 5000 Regional are ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2017 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.About Inc.
