Geron has been a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Protocol and Dow Jones
SAN FRANCISCO — Nov. 12, 2024 — Bospar, the “politely pushy” PR and marketing firm that puts health and tech companies on the map, has hired veteran business and technology journalist Tomio Geron to join its content team and advise clients on content marketing strategy.
Geron has been a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Protocol, Dow Jones and other leading publications, covering a wide array of topics including venture capital, startups, AI, fintech, Web3/crypto, SaaS, the gig economy, health tech and the consumer internet. Known for his in-depth, analytical stories, Geron has deep experience writing about everything from the intricacies of AI and Web3 technology to the latest developments in business models and public policy.
“Tomio Geron was one of the first reporters I used to pitch when I started my PR career, so there’s a sense of symmetry of us joining forces,” said Curtis Sparrer. “Tomio has reported on companies like Box, Facebook, HootSuite, Intel, Optimizely and Tesla. He knows what makes a top-tier news story. Tomio is the perfect addition to our content team – our communications strategies are informed by understanding what journalists need.”
At WSJ, Geron was a reporter and editor, covering venture capital and startups. He also created and produced data projects on venture capital. Previously, he covered social media companies and venture capital at Forbes, edited the Midas List of top technology venture capital investors and wrote magazine stories on such companies as Airbnb. More recently at Protocol, he covered fintech and crypto with a policy focus and contributed to its daily fintech newsletter.
The hiring of Geron is just the latest sign of growth at Bospar, which is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary in January. The agency also recently expanded its innovative efforts by releasing an AI-powered PR and marketing assistant called Push*E. To celebrate a decade in PR, Bospar – which has been remote from its inception in 2015 – will also come out with new research examining the benefits of work-from-home consulting companies.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the stellar team at Bospar to work with its top roster of valued clients,” Geron said. “Bospar consistently produces winning results for its clients and is always innovating with new approaches, such as its new AI chatbot Push*E.”
