Bospar Takes Gold and Silver in 2019 Bulldog PR Awards

Boutique PR Firm Recognized for Work With George Takei’s House of Cats and Its ‘Say San Francisco’ Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO – June 10, 2019 – Bospar, the boutique PR firm that puts tech companies on the map, has been awarded both a gold and silver medal in the category of Most Innovative Media Relations Campaign in the 2019 Bulldog PR Awards. The program received a record-breaking number of entries this year across more than 40 categories.

Bospar took the gold for its work with George Takei and the creators of House of Cats, an augmented reality app satirizing Donald Trump’s White House. Bospar worked with House on Cats on both messaging and strategy to launch the app and brought political activist and Star Trek actor George Takei to the fore as spokesperson and brand ambassador to earn an avalanche of media hype and app downloads.

“Many of us are lifelong fans of George Takei. This app launch was a lot of work, but it was also a really fun and rewarding collaboration,” said Bospar principal Curtis Sparrer. “We had to hit the ground running, but the Takei team kept up with the flood of media opportunities, and we were all thrilled with the results.”

“Not all of our clients have the star power of Takei, but we try to bring this level of energy and excitement to every product launch,” added Bospar Chief Content Officer Tricia Heinrich.

Bospar’s “Say San Francisco” campaign, a creative bid for the attention of Silicon Valley executives, won silver. After surveying 200 people from the Bay Area and over 1,000 people from the U.S., Bospar discovered that Americans like using “Frisco” and “San Fran” — nicknames San Franciscans hate — when referring to San Francisco.

The Bulldog PR award comes just weeks after Bospar won Gold and Silver medals in the Muse Creative Awards and a month after Bospar was named Outstanding Boutique Agency by PR Week for the second year in a row.
