Bospar Shortlisted for Two PRSA Anvil Awards

“Bospar Messes with Texas” and “Bospar Takes Unistellar to New Heights” campaigns shortlisted for PRSA Anvil Awards following PRWeek and Ragan’s award wins

SAN FRANCISCO — March 28, 2022 — Bospar, the “Politely Pushy®” PR firm that puts tech companies on the map, has been shortlisted in two categories for the Public Relations Society of America 2022 Anvil Awards. The “Bospar Messes with Texas” campaign has been shortlisted for the Most Effective ESG (environmental, social, governance) Campaign category, and the “Bospar Takes Unistellar to New Heights” campaign has been shortlisted for the Marketing > Consumer Products > Non-Packaged Goods category.

The “Bospar Messes with Texas” campaign promoted that Bospar agreed to pay for the relocation of any Texas staff member who wanted to leave Texas because of the state ban on abortion, the most restrictive in the nation.

The “Bospar Takes Unistellar to New Heights” campaign positioned Unistellar’s eVscope telescope and global community of space exploration enthusiasts as an antidote to many of the problems caused by the pandemic’s lockdowns: loneliness, claustrophobia and lapses in education and perspective.

“Bospar is very excited and honored to be included in the PRSA Anvil Awards shortlist for campaigns with a strong human element, ensuring our employees work in a location that matches their values and promoting a telescope that helped space enthusiasts find or continue a hobby during the pandemic,” said Curtis Sparrer, a co-founder and principal at Bospar. “We are delighted that our work is shortlisted for the PRSA Anvil Awards, which are important and prestigious awards in our industry.”

The Bospar Messes with Texas initiative included a virtual career fair, with 11 additional PR agencies participating in the month-long event including: Bateman Agency; BLASTmedia; BOCA; EvolveMKD; Highwire PR; Karbo Communications; Manhattan Strategies; Redwood Climate Communications; Strange Brew Strategies; and Trier and Company. Brian Simon Associates, a PR recruitment firm, also participated. Bospar shares the recognition by PRSA with these PR colleagues, who are equally committed to the cause.

“One thing that’s very unique to the San Francisco PR market is how willing competing agencies are to support one another, always operating with the belief ‘all boats rise with the tide,'” said Fred Bateman, CEO and founder, Bateman Agency. “It was affirming and inspiring to see how quickly so many agencies were to push aside any competitive tendencies and join forces in the ongoing battle to secure women’s reproductive rights by providing solutions rather than just adding to the rhetoric.”

“At BLASTmedia, we believe an inclusive set of thoughts and perspectives creates better business outcomes and a more enjoyable work environment,” said Mendy Werne, CEO of BLASTmedia. “We were happy to participate in the career fair, as we want to be an ally in protecting women’s access to the right to decide what is best for themselves and their bodies.”

“We truly believe in this vision/mission,” said Brian Gabay, CEO of Brian Simon Associates. “It aligns with our core beliefs: Do the right thing always, be true to who you are and stand up for what you believe in. Happiness – and success – comes when you strive to be the best version of yourself each and every single day.”

“Trier and Company was thrilled to be taking a stand as one of the PR agencies involved with the PRoviding Choice Job Fair campaign,” said Beth Trier, CEO and founder of Trier and Company. “When the Texas abortion law went into effect, we were committed to helping our employees and their families relocate if they were concerned about the ability to seek reproductive care. Joining forces with Bospar on this campaign enabled us to speak publicly about incredibly personal issues that directly impact many of us — especially women.”

The PRSA Anvil Awards shortlists is the latest recognition of Bospar’s impressive, continued distinction in the PR industry. In March, Bospar won the PRWeek US Awards 2022 Corporate Branding category for the second consecutive year; won in three categories of PR Daily’s 2022 Top Agencies Awards; and won in four categories of this year’s Ragan’s Employee Communications and Top Places to Work Awards. In February, Bospar was named Innovator of the Year for the second consecutive year at the 2022 Innovation SABRE Awards-North America.
