SAN FRANCISCO — April 21, 2025 — “Game Face: Becoming a PR Detective” — the children’s book authored by Bospar Principal Curtis Sparrer and a No. 1 best-seller on Amazon — is now available at Barnes & Noble.
Sparrer was inspired to write “Game Face” after trying to explain the world of public relations to his 10-year-old niece, Sloan, only to realize there weren’t any books designed to help children understand what PR professionals do.
The story begins when Sloan’s favorite video game is hit by a mysterious bug, threatening to ruin the experience for its entire online community. To help get to the bottom of it, Sloan joins the Bospar PR team, embarking on an adventure that transforms a digital disaster into a lesson in leadership, empathy and turning problems into opportunities.
While “Game Face” was created with middle-grade readers in mind, its lessons resonate with audiences of all ages. It offers insights on how to think like a PR detective, spotting risks, crafting smart responses and managing the narrative when the stakes are high.
“Publishing this book has been incredibly rewarding, as it opens up the world of PR to people of all ages,” said Sparrer. “When I first tried to explain what I do for a living to my niece, I realized how hard it is to describe a profession that’s part detective, part storyteller and part crisis manager. I hope it entertains young readers and inspires them to see the power of communication and the importance of helping people tell their stories, especially in difficult moments.”
“Game Face: Becoming a PR Detective” is available for purchase on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
