SAN FRANCISCO – June 17, 2019 – The San Francisco Press Club has a new board member – Curtis Sparrer, a principal at Bospar, the boutique PR firm that puts tech companies on the map. Sparrer will serve a two-year term.
A non-profit professional journalism organization, the San Francisco Press Club consists of editors, photographers, producers, reporters and other media professionals. Its mission is to encourage excellence in journalism by providing grants, recognition, scholarships and training to professionals and students in the Greater Bay Area.
“Our mission is driven by our belief in the First Amendment, integrity in reporting and the essential role of journalism in a democracy,” said San Francisco Press Club President J. Ennis Kirkland. “Seasoned media experts like Sparrer help us in our ongoing support for that mission.”
Sparrer is a well-known and respected presence in the industry, with more than 20 years of media and PR experience. An Emmy-winning executive producer, he collaborates daily with Bospar clients and the media to educate the public and investment community on key business, cultural, legislative, regulatory, and technology developments and trends.
“Journalism is the foundation of American democracy – and the foundation of PR. You can’t have either without journalism!” said Sparrer.
Bospar this year garnered the Outstanding Boutique Agency of the Year designation in the PRWeek U.S. Awards, the second consecutive year it received this accolade. Bospar also won two 2019 Muse Creative Awards, and just last month Bospar won both first and second prizes in the Bulldog PR Awards “Most Innovative Media Relations Campaign” category.
