Purpose of Role
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for supporting campaigns across account teams. Launches and manages campaign work and ensures clients’ needs are met.
Primary Responsibilities
Account Strategy and Team Management
- Support day-to-day direction of client teams, demonstrating understanding of clients’ goals
- Lead or support monthly planning processes (depending on account size)
- Stay up to date on client-specific media and industry developments to deliver informed, thoughtful recommendations
- Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables
Client Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, working to build trust and become a go-to source of counsel
- Actively contribute to all client calls, brainstorms and strategy sessions
- Anticipate client needs and respond to client requests in a thoughtful, timely manner
Media Relations
- Contribute to development of proactive, data-driven media strategies
- Monitor for newsjacking opportunities and support rapid-response initiatives
- Draft and deliver compelling pitches, demonstrating mastery of trade press, customer verticals and regional outlets
- Build relationships with top-tier broadcast, print and digital outlets
Speaking & Awards
- Review speaking abstracts and award nominations, and provide thoughtful feedback for junior teammates
Mentorship and Management
- Serve as a strong coach to junior teammates, helping them to strengthen their skills and overcome challenges
- Contribute to a positive and supportive environment
Business Development
- Support development of compelling proposals
- Actively contribute to presentations, demonstrating knowledge of prospects’ industries
- Build external network by attending events, participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Reporting
- Lead or support development of monthly/quarterly reports (depending on account size)
- Maintain accurate reporting in Harvest
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- 3+ years of PR experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
- Experience with, or strong interest in, B2B and/or B2C technology
- Knowledge of PR software and tools, including Cision, Muck Rack, HARO, etc.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
Salary range: $65k to $75k
