Purpose of role
The Account Executive is responsible for a variety of day-to-day client work across 5–6 accounts, playing a key support role within their teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Media Relations:
- Drive media list development and maintenance
- Draft and deliver compelling pitches, building relationships with trade press, customer verticals and regional outlets
- Prepare client-facing briefing notes to support interviews
- Client Relations:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients
- Actively contribute to all client calls
- Respond to client requests in a thoughtful, timely manner
Speaking/Awards:
- Research and vet event and award opportunities on behalf of clients
- Develop and maintain calendars highlighting upcoming opportunities
- Draft abstracts and nominations
Reporting:
- Prepare or review client call agendas
- Capture notes during client calls and internal meetings
- Prepare and send client-facing action items following weekly calls
- Monitor and record client media coverage
- Maintain accurate reporting in Harvest
Business Development:
- Capture notes during proposals
- Present slides as appropriate
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in public relations
- Bachelor’s Degree in PR, Communications, Marketing, English or related field
- Knowledge of PR software and tools, including Cision, Muck Rack, HARO, etc.
- Experience with, or strong interest in, B2B and/or B2C technology
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
Salary range: $60 to $65k
