How can you stand out at the 2025 RSA Conference?

February 19, 2025

Research firm Cybersecurity Ventures expects global cybercrime costs to reach $10.5 trillion annually this year, up from $3 trillion in 2015. According to Cybersecurity Ventures researcher Steve Morgan, “This represents the greatest transfer of economic wealth in history, risks the incentives for innovation and investment, is exponentially larger than the damage inflicted from natural disasters in a year, and will be more profitable than the global trade of all major illegal drugs combined.”

To help us learn and decide what can we do to combat cybercrime and reduce its staggering impact,  more than 41,000 attendees, 650 speakers, 600 exhibitors and 400 members of the media will converge in San Francisco April 28-May 1 at the RSA Conference (RSAC), the world’s largest cybersecurity industry event. There, we’ll see the latest and greatest technologies and approaches to improve cybersecurity and thwart cybercrime.

The RSA Conference theme this year is “Many Voices. One Community.

The top 10 trends in cybersecurity at the RSA Conference

This year, the RSA Conference received a record number of more than 2,800 speaking proposals and compiled a list and a report of the top 10 trends in cybersecurity from those proposals. This is a great resource because it indicates what the cybersecurity thought leaders consider to be the most important topics to discuss with their peers at the world’s largest cybersecurity conference.

In her “RSAC 2025 Conference Submission Trends” blog post, RSA Conference Director of Content Kacy Zurkus wrote, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and all things related to AI have taken center stage in conversations across silos, sectors, and industries, and it happened fast. As recently as 2023, AI-related submissions only accounted for about 5% of the talks people wanted to deliver at RSA Conference. When the RSAC 2025 Conference Call for Submissions opened, AI was everywhere. Of the more than 2,800 proposals, over 40% referenced AI and its companion topics of machine learning and agents.”

The top 10 cybersecurity trends from RSAC 2025 submissions include:

  1. Agents of AI: “Discovering the balance between agentic AI, security risks, and the need for the AIBOMs (AI bills of materials).”
  2. Large language models (LLMs): “Exploring LLMs’ potential and risks, emphasizing security vulnerabilities and the need for secure retrieval augmented generation (RAG) workflows.”
  3. Non-human identities (NHIs): “AI has raised new identity challenges, with a focus on securing non-human identities (NHIs) in the cloud.”
  4. AI assistants: “As AI blurs human-machine lines, submissions explore the risks of over-relying on AI code and its security impact.”
  5. Ethics: “AI’s rise calls for ethical governance and responsible regulation in cybersecurity.”
  6. API risks: “Innovation is raising concerns over API security, especially with generative AI and LLMs impacting supply chains and tools.”
  7. Quantum: “Cybersecurity teams are preparing for a postquantum world, using AI to inform strategies for protecting against future quantum threats.”
  8. Guardians of all things: “Cybersecurity ‘guardians’ are balancing innovation with caution while protecting both systems and teams.”
  9. Community: “RSA Conference 2025 focuses on building an inclusive, resilient cybersecurity culture to protect all communities.”
  10. Many Voices. One Community: “Security experts at RSAC 2025 are exploring the future of technology while ensuring human collaboration remains at the forefront.”

You may need help to stand out at RSAC 2025

With web searches, excellent websites and generative AI at our fingertips, it’s not hard to find and learn about the top trends expected at a conference. But what if you want to break out and get your voice heard among the many thought leaders in the dynamic cybersecurity industry?

If you’re launching a product at RSA that will help advance the industry and improve cybersecurity, wouldn’t it be great to meet with some of the more than 400 media attendees at RSAC and get your share of media coverage and public relations success? The answer, of course, is a resounding yes. But what you may not know is that getting those meetings and stories requires significant PR planning.

You may want and need help from public relations experts with a record of success presenting news, landing stellar media interviews and coverage and winning speaking engagements among thousands of speaking proposals at conferences like RSAC and other events throughout the year. If so, consider Bospar, a PR agency with expertise in cybersecurity and zero trust.

A sample of our cybersecurity client success stories includes Alertsec, Cohesity, DataTrails (formerly RKVST), ExpressVPN, Imperva, iProov, Mark43, Netsparker, nCipher, NodeSource, NordVPN, NXP, PC Tools, Riskified, StackRox and Unisys. Bospar shared these insights from RSA 2023 and RSA 2024 and will represent clients and share insights from RSA again this year.

Whether you have news, make news

Bospar has found that one way to cut through the show noise is by doing research that yields fresh data to create news hooks and give reporters the data and compelling narratives they need to build stories that will appeal to their editors and your target audience. This could be in the form of a third-party survey to identify habits, top vulnerabilities and bad behaviors to shine a spotlight on the biggest concerns and pain points in your area of focus within cybersecurity.

We would leverage the data to create a palpable buzz through a combination of press releases and blogs, media briefings and a strong digital strategy, including social posts and podcasts. We could even survey RSA attendees to provide a comparison of the key concerns of each audience.

In addition to survey creation and promotion, press releases, media outreach and earned coverage to support your news, Bospar also can help navigate and curate the many offers for paid sponsorship of on-site podcasts, video broadcasts and events.
