OTA Insight Serves Up Data Decision Making to Hospitality Sector

OTA Insight is widely recognized as the leader in hospitality business intelligence, empowering hoteliers to deliver smarter revenue, distribution and marketing outcomes through its industry-leading commercial platform. OTA Insight’s platform, which supports more than 55,000 properties in 185 countries, provides detailed information about online searches for flights and hotels, as well as pricing information from other hotels in the same area.

OTA Insight asked Bospar to promote its $80 million Series B funding round on a very aggressive timeframe: four weeks total for the project, with only 2.5 weeks from the start date to the announcement date.

Strategy

Bospar’s research revealed there was a story beyond the numbers illustrating the significance of the funding–the industry shift to adapting technology for intelligent decision making. Bospar positioned the deal as signaling this change. Prior to the pandemic, the hospitality industry had been gradually implementing new technology, and while OTA Insight’s business experienced significant growth through 2020 despite the industry headwinds, 2021 was a breakthrough.

Bospar initially honed messaging to support the above positioning and trained OTA Insight executives to present the messages in media interviews. With the strategy and messaging in place and the announcement date two weeks ahead, Bospar wrote the press release; selected and pitched top-tier media; secured media interest; prepared executives for each interview; and followed up on high-impact media coverage.

 

Results

In the first 24 hours following the announcement, Bospar and OTA Insight racked up more than 47 pieces of coverage with 763,989,501 impressions, including coverage in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, VentureBeat, Forbes, TechCrunch, Skift, Axios, and The Denver Business Journal.
