SAN FRANCISCO – October 12, 2022 – Bospar, the “politely pushy” PR and marketing firm that puts tech companies on the map, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has approved the company’s use of both Bospar® and Politely Pushy® trademarks, protecting the company from the unauthorized use of its intellectual property (IP).
“I was inspired to secure the trademarks during a webcast when I described Bospar’s approach as ‘politely pushy.’” recalled Curtis Sparrer, Bospar’s principal and co-founder. “The moment ‘Politely Pushy’ escaped my lips, a panelist exclaimed, ‘That’s clever – I’m going to use that!’ That’s when I remembered the advice of Missy Elliott from her song ‘Get Ur Freak On’: ‘Copywritten, so don’t copy me.’ While trademarks are not copyrights, I immediately realized that I wanted this IP to be unique to the Bospar brand.”
“We trademarked our name ‘Bospar’ for the same reasons portrayed in Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law,” continued Sparrer. “We didn’t want a competitor to register the name first!’ It’s worth noting that not many PR agencies register IP, but when your ideas seem valuable enough to protect, it’s worth pursuing. Ultimately our goal is to be an example of how great PR is done.”
