PR Positions AI Cloud Challenger to Win Media Coverage, Microsoft Business

Nebius Group NV is an Amsterdam-based company that last year split from Russia’s Yandex.

The B2B technology company, which provides a cloud platform for intensive AI workloads, was preparing its first big announcement since launch. The news announcement and media coverage would be critical in shaping public perception about the AI cloud challenger. It would also set the stage for future public relations communications – which would include important information about expanded infrastructure, new customer wins and significant business growth.

Challenge

To set itself up for success, the company sought a dynamic public relations agency that understands tech and what it takes to get media coverage that leads to business success.

Bospar was the obvious choice.

Securing media coverage in The Information and media pick up in Forbes were top of mind.

The client wanted earned media to reflect that it was a new and serious challenger on the scene – an AI cloud business to watch that was here to take on the big players in the market.

Strategy

Bospar’s media outreach team created a strategic PR plan that mapped out how to pitch the news release to target reporters and which journalists and media outlets to reach out to and when.

Meanwhile, our content creation team provided client counsel on the press release to ensure it would attract maximum reporter interest and that journalists’ stories based on the content would both inform and create excitement about these stories to drive decision-maker action.

The public relations and content marketing teams kept the drumbeat of media coverage for this client going with additional PR campaigns; pitches, press releases and articles; and media wins. Additionally, Bospar’s social media team supported corporate content across LinkedIn, X and Facebook, and provided research and monitoring for the company’s influencer program.

Success

The PR strategy yielded massive returns!

Bospar’s work led to the lengthy profile “CoreWeave’s Quiet Rival May Be the Better Bet: Nebius, with fast growth and no debt, is taking a very different approach to building AI data centers” by financial analysis columnist Anita Ramaswamy, reporting for The Information.

Understanding Forbes was also atop the client’s wish list, we got to work and secured coverage in the Iain Martin article “Investors’ $20 Billion Bet on The ‘NeoClouds’ Driving The AI Arms Race.” The coverage burnished the client’s public image by calling it a CoreWeave competitor and noting its data center and $2 billion from AI giant Nvidia and high-profile VC firm Accel.

But that is just a small sampling of the expansive coverage that Bospar’s PR efforts delivered.

The public relations team at Bospar also secured the client:

  1. An extensive number of broadcast stories in media outlets across the country
  2. Multiple Reuters stories – Stephen Nellis and Priyanka G. reporting
  3. SiliconAngle media coverage – Maria Deutscher and Duncan Riley reporting
  4. An appearance inS. News and World Report – which picked up the Reuters story
  5. A media placement in Yahoo – Stephen Nellis reporting

Bospar’s efforts also led to additional media coverage in such publications as:

  1. BezingaDylan Berman reporting
  2. CRNO’Ryan Johnson reporting
  3. Data Center DynamicsGeorgia Butler, Zachary Skidmore, Dan Swinhoe and Charlotte Trueman reporting
  4. Data Center Review Team reporting
  5. The Next WebLinnea Ahlgren and Sion Geschwindt reporting

Additionally, the client enjoyed increased visibility and public interest through:

  1. A Bloomberg story by Mark Bergen on the company’s founder
  2. CNBC’s April Roach reporting on the AI boom, which mentioned the client
  3. An Entrepreneur article by Jeffrey Neal Johnson calling the client a “rising star”
  4. The cofounder’s TechCrunch Disrupt speech, which TechCrunch posted
  5. A long list of other media coverage that drove positive public opinion about the client

This significant media coverage clearly moved the needle to set up the company for success. The company recently signed an AI infrastructure deal worth up to $19.4 billion with Microsoft, which sent its shares soaring. In addition, the company recently submitted an SEC filing saying this new deal will significantly increase the growth of its AI cloud business in the year ahead.
