SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 25, 2024 – Bospar, the “politely pushy” PR and marketing firm that helps tech and health companies make their mark, won three PRSA Foggies awards, including DE&I Campaign of the Year, Crisis Communications and Large Agency of the Year. This marks the third consecutive year Bospar has taken home the Large Agency of the Year honor.
Bospar’s work with San Francisco Pride earned the DE&I Campaign of the Year and Crisis Communications awards. When the organization faced a critical funding shortfall due to the local economic downturn, Bospar proposed leveraging the 1980s anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” by Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, to boost merchandise sales and rally support.
Don’t get It twisted: How Dee Snider KISSed off SF Pride
However, when Snider posted transphobic comments on social media, the plan had to shift. Bospar recommended a bold gamble: play chicken — publicly daring to cancel Pride unless the city and business community stepped up.
The strategy worked. Following a heartfelt appeal by San Francisco Pride Executive Director Suzanne Ford at the SF Business Times’ Business of Pride gala, local leaders responded with the necessary funds.
“We are incredibly proud of our work with San Francisco Pride and the recognition by PRSA,” said Curtis Sparrer, principal at Bospar. “These wins reflect our team’s ability to think creatively and act decisively in the face of a crisis. At Bospar, we push boundaries, and this success demonstrates how much impact our ‘politely pushy’ approach can have.”
The PRSA Foggies honor excellence in public relations, recognizing outstanding campaigns, initiatives and industry leadership. Bospar’s three awards highlight its continued commitment to bold, innovative communication strategies that deliver results.
