SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9, 2024 – Bospar, the “politely pushy” PR and marketing firm that puts health and tech companies on the map, has been honored with a first-place award for Overall Excellence at the 47th Annual San Francisco Press Club Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards. The award recognized Bospar’s outstanding campaign for Brainly, titled “AI Lesson Plan.”
The sold-out gala, held on Dec. 4, celebrated excellence in journalism and public relations, drawing over 300 attendees from across the Greater Bay Area. The event champions the work of journalists and PR professionals who uphold the highest standards of integrity and excellence. Watch the highlights of the gala here.
Curtis Sparrer, principal at Bospar and president of the San Francisco Press Club, reflected on the honor and underscored the importance of supporting press clubs.
“We are deeply grateful for this recognition,” said Sparrer. “But it pains me that, once again, Bospar was the only PR agency to sponsor and actively participate in the SF Press Club Awards gala. It’s more important than ever to honor excellence in journalism and to show journalists some love. Where would American democracy be without our fourth estate? For that matter, where would PR be?”
Sparrer emphasized that supporting press clubs is a strategic investment for PR agencies and brands looking to amplify their visibility and build relationships with the media.
Bospar’s contributions to the gala went beyond sponsorship. The agency played a pivotal role behind the scenes, managing marketing, video production, social media activations, content creation, event promotion, fulfillment, logistics, ticketing, setup and teardown.
“We call on our peers in the PR industry to join us in supporting these events and the critical work of the press,” added Sparrer. “Let’s ensure that journalism not only survives but thrives in the years ahead.”
