Bospar Takes Silver in 2018 Bulldog PR Awards for Work With Varo Money
SAN FRANCISCO—April 6, 2018—Bospar, the boutique PR firm that puts tech companies on the map, has been awarded a silver medal in the category of Best Business to Consumer Campaign in the 2018 Bulldog PR Awards.
The award is in recognition of Bospar’s work with Varo Money, a mobile banking app that announced its application for a national bank charter. The team worked closely with Varo to finalize messaging that showcases the consumer benefits of such a move, leveraged the innovative technology and CEO’s background in a two-minute video that put a friendly, genuine face on the company, and then pitched a highly-vetted media list. The effort generated 117 pieces of coverage and 592 million impressions; coverage appeared in major business and technology outlets including the Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Reuters, BuzzFeed, Bloomberg, San Francisco Business Times, American Banker, PYMNTS, and Nasdaq.
“It is gratifying to see our work for Varo recognized. Having seen previous news coverage on fintechs entering the banking space, we knew the key here was message control on a story top-tier reporters would be obligated to cover. Navigating regulators and special interests leading up to a mandatory public disclosure can be tricky, but the results speak for themselves,” explained Bospar Principal Tom Carpenter. “The successful use of communications tools to help solve marketing problems and achieve corporate goals is central to our approach, and this is a great example of how that approach pays off.”
This award comes just weeks after three other significant wins. Bospar was named Outstanding Boutique Agency of the Year by PRWeek and was honored with two awards from the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) 2018 Public Relations and Marketing Excellence Awards: PR Agency of the Year and PR Agency Media Relations Campaign of the Year.
