Bospar co-founder Curtis Sparrer to debate AI’s disruption of journalism at Ai4

San Francisco Press Club president and PR veteran joins panel to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the news

SAN FRANCISCO — Aug. 12, 2025 — Curtis Sparrer, co-founder and principal of Bospar PR and president of the San Francisco Press Club, will participate in a panel at Ai4 on “How AI Is Changing the News” on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 3:50 p.m. to 4:35 p.m.

Sparrer will join media heavyweights Jason Abbruzzese (assistant managing editor, NBC News), Justin Hendrix (CEO and editor, Tech Policy Press) and Kelsey Vlamis (senior reporter, Business Insider) to unpack AI’s impact on how news is reported, distributed and consumed.

“We’re entering an era where misinformation can be manufactured at scale,” said Sparrer. “Newsrooms must double down on verification tech and transparency practices, and stay engaged with policymakers trying to safeguard the information ecosystem without compromising press freedom. Equally important, journalists must protect their connection with their communities before algorithms completely dictate what people see.”

The session will explore how generative AI is streamlining reporting, algorithms are upending content delivery and synthetic media is challenging the credibility of trusted news outlets. The panelists will examine both the promise and perils of AI, offering insights into the ethical, editorial and regulatory dilemmas now facing newsrooms.

Sparrer’s participation reflects Bospar’s continuing leadership at the intersection of PR, technology and media. As president of the San Francisco Press Club, he advocates for meaningful dialogue between journalists and PR professionals on the evolving challenges and opportunities AI brings to both industries.
